The Producers have identified a church on the South Side of Chicago that perfectly fits the story and the production’s needs. The producers have entered into a Letter of Intent to secure the location and the financial terms for use in the production. 

PRODUCTION PLAN

Pre-Production

Produce a six to nine minute short film that captures an abbreviated version of the first act and that demonstrates the mood and style expected in the feature-length production : COMPLETE 

Commission experienced set designers to create the ‘confessional boxes’ that will allow for an array of camera angles.: COMPLETE

Create Facebook and Instagram pages for the film to slowly begin to build interest : COMPLETE

Use the sizzle reel footage to produce a one minute teaser to make available on social media: COMPLETE

Assemble a production team: COMPLETE

Prepare a budget and have it verified as reasonable by an experienced third party: COMPLETE

Hire a casting agent: COMPLETE

Attach principal cast: COMPLETE

Secure principal location for the shoot: COMPLETE

Director and production staff develop shot lists and shooting schedule

Reach out to potential indie film distributors, particularly ones with experience distributing controversial films

Production

Be willing to film on non-consecutive weeks to accommodate schedules of cast and crew

Filming crew will be small for much of it due to confined shooting space

Use a shooting plan that adheres with all industry standards for the safety of the cast and crew

A multi-day shoot at a church and the area outside it – a few more crew members and additional cast needed

Keep meticulous records of expenses

Post-Production

Engage a post-production firm to work alongside the Director to edit the film, with a preference for a Chicago-based company

A separate sound design firm may also be sought if needed to create the proper aural mood

Submit documentation to the Screen Actors Guild-Chicago and the Illinois Film Office for prompt distribution of the tax credits earned in the production

Secure music rights for opening and closing credits.
